About the position

This remote opportunity is open to candidates residing anywhere in the United States or Canada. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to elevate VelocityEHS' Mid-Market and Enterprise Sales teams and Managers. The ideal candidate will leverage their strategic agility, operational savvy, and motivational leadership to build pipeline and close new logos. This role includes leading sales activities, providing mentorship, and fostering a high-performance culture. The Director of Sales will report directly to the AVP of Sales and play a crucial role in shaping and executing the sales strategy. This position is remote but requires approximately 10-20% travel for customer visits, leadership meetings, and tradeshows.

Responsibilities

  • Empower your team to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual quota targets
  • Increase the velocity of deals by driving results through enabling effective sales process navigation from prospecting through closing process
  • Work across cross-functional teams, specifically Account Management, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product
  • Direct team on day-to-day sales activities with a focus on delivering key sales metrics
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with managers to provide guidance, support, and feedback, ensuring alignment with team goals and individual development plans
  • Implement performance reviews and performance management strategies to continuously improve team effectiveness and individual growth
  • Help define and develop the company's Mid-Market Hunting strategy
  • Leverage the tech stack, including Navigator, Outreach, and Salesforce, to optimize sales processes, track performance, and drive efficiency
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the VP of Sales and Chief Revenue Officer
  • Regularly Forecast bookings with high accuracy leveraging sales process stages and deal inspection
  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes in both EHS and SaaS Sales
  • Run Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for the leadership team and support your team in preparing and conducting their own QBRs
  • Develop and recruit a talent-rich team and foster a performance-based culture
  • Lead through change, providing clarity and executing plans with urgency
  • Mentor and guide managers and sales representatives in building their careers while achieving sales objectives, quotas, and targets

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in sales, including 5+ years of successful sales leadership experience specifically with new business and managing managers
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to drive teams through the sales process from start to finish
  • Familiarity with sales technology deployed in SaaS sales environments
  • Demonstrated experience in forecasting, business strategy and planning
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills (Fluent in English)
  • Appetite and capacity to learn quickly and continuously
  • Agile, ready, and able to quickly pivot in a dynamic environment

  • Experience within the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) industry
  • Proven experience in managing and leading remote teams effectively
