About the position

Nintendo of America Inc. is seeking a Director to provide strategic direction and objectives for the distribution of Nintendo products in the United States. This role involves monitoring performance related to contractual obligations and market needs, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure alignment with business goals. The Director will be responsible for providing key project and business reporting to senior management at both Nintendo of America (NOA) and Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL). This includes establishing sales, promotional, and retailer marketing program direction, as well as developing and directing regional communication programs that encompass public relations, advertising, and retailer websites. In this position, the Director will provide guidance to retailers and distributors, establish budgets, and monitor performance against those budgets. A significant aspect of the role is leading and influencing cross-functional teams to support NOA's business objectives and customer initiatives. The Director will leverage analytics and insights to impact customer decisions and guide top-level business direction for both NOA and its customers. Additionally, the role includes directing brand equity enhancement efforts and acting as a liaison to the legal department regarding counterfeit product proliferation, intellectual property infringements, lobbying, government relations, and industry association efforts. The Director will also be responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with key retailers, ensuring accountability for regional financial performance, and maximizing regional profitability. This includes directing staff, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback, guidance, training, and task direction, as well as establishing policies and procedures and forecasting work volume and staffing levels.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years business experience with a background in CPG being highly preferred.
  • Experience working with Walmart and/or Target highly preferred.
  • Broad understanding of organization sales, marketing, finance (including P&L management), and general business practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales, marketing, communications, manufacturing, and operations practices.
  • Supervisory, management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business Administration with a focus on Sales, Marketing, or International Business.
