About the position

The Director, Scientific Communication & Content Strategy Lead for Cardiovascular (CV) and Cell & Gene Therapy at Bayer is responsible for translating scientific data into effective communication, education, and training materials. This role involves identifying gaps in brand communications and recommending solutions to support brand and medical strategies across various indications. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and partner companies to ensure alignment and effective dissemination of scientific information.

Responsibilities

• Direct the planning, development, and implementation of global workshops, advisory boards, and scientific educational programs for CV and Cell & Gene Therapy.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment and exchange with partner companies in the Cell & Gene Therapy space.
• Direct the development and implementation of global congress strategies and plans for data presentation and scientific education programs.
• Participate in the planning, reviewing, and editing of scientific abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, and review articles to ensure relevance and alignment with internal strategies.
• Direct the development and implementation of internal scientific communications to disseminate new product and scientific information to medical colleagues globally.
• Plan and develop core medical materials for local implementation, ensuring consistency in scientific messaging across products and indications.
• Develop and maintain global training platforms and materials to ensure consistency with the latest developments.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D., or Pharm.D.) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in a related scientific/medical/pharmaceutical area, including scientific communications and/or medical writing.
• Proven ability to interpret scientific and clinical trial data and present it in various formats for appropriate audiences.
• Awareness and understanding of good publication practices and their implications.
• Understanding of the drug development process across different stages.
• Understanding of global regulations and guidelines.
• Thorough knowledge of company policies and processes.
• Experience in developing and delivering presentations and publications in English.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• A strong global mindset and experience working across boundaries and geographies.
• Proven record of relationship building, both internally and externally to the organization.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for meetings and conferences.

Nice-to-haves

• Cardiovascular or Cell & Gene Therapy training/experience is preferred.
• Minimum of five years' industry experience.
• Preferably, disease and therapeutic area knowledge in oncology for Bayer's existing portfolio and new opportunities.
