About the position

The Director, Scientific Communication & Content Strategy Lead for Cardiovascular (CV) and Cell & Gene Therapy (C>) at Bayer is responsible for translating scientific data into effective communication, education, and training materials. This role involves identifying gaps in brand communications and recommending solutions to support brand and medical strategies across various indications. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite work 2-3 days a week at the Whippany, NJ Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the planning, development, and implementation of global workshops, advisory boards, and scientific educational programs for CV and C>.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and exchange with C> partner companies.
  • Direct the development and implementation of global congress strategies and plans for data presentation and scientific education programs.
  • Participate in the planning, reviewing, and editing of scientific abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, and review articles.
  • Direct the development and implementation of internal scientific communications for global dissemination of new product and scientific information.
  • Plan and develop core medical materials globally for local implementation, ensuring consistency in scientific messaging.
  • Develop and maintain global training platforms and materials to align with the latest developments.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D, or Pharm.D) in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a related scientific/medical/pharmaceutical area, including scientific communications and/or medical writing.
  • Proven ability to interpret scientific and clinical trial data and present it in various formats for appropriate audiences.
  • Awareness and understanding of good publication practices and their implications.
  • Understanding of the drug development process over different stages.
  • Understanding of global regulations and guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and processes.
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and publications in English.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A strong global mindset.
  • Experience working across boundaries and geographies and building effective working relationships between functions.
  • Proven record of relationship building, both internally and externally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cardiovascular or C> training/experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' industry experience.
  • Preferably, disease and therapeutic area knowledge in oncology for Bayer's existing portfolio and new opportunities.
