About the position

The Securities Operations team plays a critical role in the investment life cycle, supporting key asset strategies such as fixed income, middle market bank loans, direct senior, mezzanine, and private equity, equity real estate joint ventures, commercial mortgage loans, and lifetime mortgages. The Director, Securities Operations - Private Assets will manage crucial day-to-day functions of the firm's global, multi-asset class portfolio, which is managed both internally and externally. This role is essential in supporting Portfolio Management, Investment Solutions, Trading, and Accounting. The Director will oversee the operational processes related to private equity, private debt, private loans, and all other non-public investment products, ensuring accurate processing, settlement, and reporting of transactions while maintaining appropriate deal-related compliance documentation. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, demonstrating strong prioritization skills and a continuous improvement mindset. The Director will monitor and process daily activities on private assets, including trade settlements, drawdowns, paydowns, interest payments, principal payments, PIK loans, skim payments, agented deal transactions, and internal transfers. They will keep accurate records of private asset holdings, perform valuation assessments, and ensure documentation is complete and compliant. Additionally, the Director will coordinate with fund managers and external partners to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies, perform daily loan position and cash reconciliations, and review new deals on the loan management system for accuracy. The role requires building relationships externally with clients, agents, and custodian banks, as well as developing strong working relationships with the Investment's front, middle, and back office, and RGA corporate partners such as IT, Accounting, and Structured Finance. The Director will continually assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security in the management of private assets, implementing best practices and adopting new technologies where beneficial. Furthermore, they will lead and mentor senior analysts, analysts, and associate analysts, assisting in the development of the team while maintaining regular and predictable attendance and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Keep accurate records of private asset holdings, perform valuation assessments, and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Coordinate with fund managers and external partners to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform daily loan position and cash reconciliations across the private asset book.
  • Review new deals on the loan management system to ensure accuracy of set up.
  • Interact and build relationships externally with clients, agents, and custodian banks.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Investment's front, middle, and back office as well as with RGA corporate partners (i.e, IT, Accounting, Structured Finance, etc.).
  • Continually assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security in the management of private assets.
  • Implement best practices and adopt new technologies where beneficial.
  • Lead, mentor senior analysts, analysts, and associate analysts, assisting in the development of the team.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years investment private asset related work experience.
  • OR Master's, MBA, ASA, or FSA AND 5+ years of relevant investment related work experience.
