About the position

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Real Estate professional to lead the Site Selection team on the east coast, responsible for identifying and selecting new data center campuses in alignment with corporate goals and customer demands. This role involves overseeing site selection, market evaluation, and transitioning sites to the New Site Development Team for further development after acquisition. The position requires constant collaboration with various teams to support Vantage's strategic land acquisition goals and enhance product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of site selection, real estate negotiation, and landowner discussions.
• Track and monitor sophisticated real estate transactions, including acquisitions of land and buildings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for brokers, landowners, and consultants.
• Oversee all closing activities, ensuring compliance with payment terms and legal requirements.
• Assist Leadership Team with evaluation and selection of new sites for data center assets.
• Provide ongoing support to the New Development and Construction teams from concept to shovel-ready state.
• Obtain and analyze key market metrics and site details for identified markets.
• Report on the status of all site selection projects to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commercial or Industrial Real Estate required.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in real estate acquisition & site selection required; 9+ years preferred.
• Extensive experience negotiating real estate purchase & sale agreements strongly preferred.
• Data Center experience is strongly preferred, but extensive commercial and industrial real estate experience is required.
• Excellent analytical skills with understanding of real estate finance and discounted cash flow analysis.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Working proficiency or fluency in French is advantageous.
• Strong IT skills and ability to use multiple communication tools.
