About the position

The Director of Social, Creative and Content at Diageo is a pivotal role responsible for shaping the social media strategy and overseeing the social media team. This position is integral to the brand's communication efforts, acting as a liaison between brand marketing, cultural branding, and experiential teams. The Director will lead the development and execution of key communications related to brand and experiential/PR activities, ensuring that the brand's voice is consistently represented across all social channels. The role requires a strategic vision for social media, focusing on creating authentic partnerships and fostering a community of brand advocates across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. In this capacity, the Director will implement proactive engagement strategies aimed at organically growing the Casamigos social community both online and offline. They will be responsible for crafting a best-in-class social strategy that aligns with marketing objectives and priorities, while also staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the social media landscape. Collaboration with the brand marketing team is essential to align on strategic priorities for upcoming campaigns and events. The Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the social media team, which includes content creation management, community moderation, performance measurement, and reporting. They will produce and manage owned social content that aligns with the broader marketing calendar and objectives, while also ensuring that the brand's premium voice and messaging are upheld. Additionally, the Director will define KPIs and performance metrics, providing data-driven insights to the Casamigos team. Leadership responsibilities include building, managing, and mentoring the social media team, ensuring clarity in role expectations and deadlines. The Director will represent the company and brand values externally, operating in a manner that respects Diageo's Society 2030 goals and Marketing Code.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organic social strategy as the key communication channel for brand building and fostering social communities.
  • Develop and implement proactive engagement strategies to help organically grow the Casamigos social community both on and offline.
  • Build and implement a best-in-class social strategy that delivers on marketing objectives and priorities.
  • Develop a vision for how Casamigos will continue to improve and evolve social channels, staying current on social media landscape including insightful trends and new innovation.
  • Work with brand marketing team to align on key strategic priorities for upcoming calendar and tentpoles.
  • Leverage existing and new audience evaluation and opportunities, making recommendations for social channel engagement.
  • Collaborate with global team and partner to integrate new communications and activities.
  • Lead day-to-day function and operations of social media, including content creation management, community moderation, performance measurement and reporting.
  • Produce, develop, publish & manage owned social content creation across various platforms that delivers against broader marketing objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day communications activities including social content calendar strategy.
  • Uphold Casamigos' premium voice and messaging, sustainably reaching social goals while further developing brand equity.
  • Develop clearly defined KPIs and performance metrics, providing data driven insights to the full Casamigos team.
  • Build, manage and mentor social media team, ensuring clarity on role expectations and key deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in social media strategy and management, preferably in the beverage or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, with a focus on community engagement and brand building.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team, with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in content creation and management across various social media platforms.
