About the position

The Director of Software Application Development at KLA is responsible for leading a team of approximately 50 engineers across multiple global locations. This role involves overseeing the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality software solutions, and fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. The director will implement agile methodologies within a traditional product development framework, drive continuous improvement, and manage budgets and resources effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the software development lifecycle from conception to deployment, implementing a rigorous agile framework embedded in a traditional gated product development process.
• Foster a collaborative environment and coordinate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet internal and external customer needs and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt the latest technologies and methodologies.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize team performance and project delivery.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team, setting clear goals and expectations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development management (at least 5 years)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent project management skills, including agile methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of software technology, development processes and best practices.
• Ability to drive technical innovation and efficiency in software development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
