About the position

The Director of Software Application Development at KLA will lead a team of approximately 50 engineers across multiple global locations, focusing on the development of applications for fleet analytics to support service delivery and new product introduction (NPI). This role involves overseeing the software development lifecycle, implementing agile methodologies, and ensuring high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the software development lifecycle from conception to deployment.
• Implement a rigorous agile framework embedded in a traditional gated product development process.
• Foster a collaborative environment and coordinate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet internal and external customer needs and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt the latest technologies and methodologies.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize team performance and project delivery.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team, setting clear goals and expectations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development management (at least 5 years).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent project management skills, including agile methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of software technology, development processes and best practices.
• Ability to drive technical innovation and efficiency in software development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
