About the position

The Director of Software Engineering at Visa will lead a high-performing team of DevOps engineers, focusing on enhancing developer productivity and reducing time to market for new products. This role involves hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the delivery of quality software solutions. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence 2-3 days a week, and emphasizes a customer-focused mindset and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Hire, retain, and invest in the career development of a high-performing team of DevOps engineers.
• Lead the team to build a culture of engineering excellence, focusing on quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, and resilience.
• Deliver products with a customer-focused mindset, engaging with cross-geographical teams.
• Provide technical leadership to DevOps teams by participating in design and process reviews.
• Develop a strategy and roadmap that aligns with business goals in partnership with DevOps and MAP PD managers.
• Manage the prioritization and delivery of strategic initiatives for enhancements on the platform.
• Ensure adherence to processes for incident management, change management, and problem management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience leading teams or with approaches and tooling for automated build, delivery, and release of software.
• Expert in Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle principles.
• Strong experience with code repository management, continuous integration, and automated deployment using tools like Jenkins, Git, Ansible.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience with CyberSource/Authorize.Net.
