The Director, Software Marketing is responsible for managing the strategic and tactical marketing efforts for the portfolio of assigned Business Unit software products. This role is crucial in driving innovation and sustained profitable growth within the organization. The Director will oversee the marketing ownership and cross-functional business leadership of the insights and innovation delivery process for both new and existing products. This includes managing the entire product life cycle from inception to market activity, ensuring that demand for the platforms is effectively created and sustained. In this position, the Director will lead the "cradle to grave" software product life cycle process through disciplined stage gate and program management approaches. A key aspect of this role involves partnering effectively with Research & Development to prioritize and develop life cycle plans. The Director will also coordinate effectively with contacts across all functions and geographies, building credible customer relationships that enhance the market position of the assigned Business Unit's software product line. The Director will engage with customers, conduct competitive analysis, and perform market research to gain insights into unmet needs, translating these into clear product requirements. Additionally, the role involves driving business case analysis in collaboration with Finance and cross-functional partners to support both short and long-term plans and budgets aligned with business unit goals and growth objectives. Establishing and maintaining effective communication systems throughout the organization is essential, ensuring that all key employees understand and implement plans to achieve objectives. Furthermore, the Director will lead and partner with cross-functional staff and external agencies to plan and execute a marketing mix of tactics for launching new software products and supporting existing in-market products. It is imperative that all activities and operations are conducted in accordance with the highest ethical standards and comply with applicable company policies, regulations, and laws.
