About the position

The Director of Sports Inventory at NBCUniversal is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and processes related to inventory utilization and logistics for various sports media across multiple channels. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with various departments to maximize revenue and ensure effective inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory for all Sports media across NBC, Golf Channel, USA, CNBC, Telemundo, and Universo.
• Lead a team of Managers, Analysts, and House Planners to monetize inventory effectively.
• Create and maintain inventory value documents and provide sales with updated plan building guides.
• Spearhead the upfront process, including acquiring programming grids and setting up plan building guides.
• Participate in the Ratecard process to evaluate and edit for the Sports marketplace.
• Liaise with Planning Leads, Finance, Ad Smart, and Direct Response teams to maximize revenue and monitor budget goals.
• Communicate consistently with Marketing and Operations teams for proper sponsorship placement.
• Manage schedule changes and ensure they are executed and communicated to sales.
• Oversee contractual obligations by League, including exclusivities in cooperation with Programming and Operations.
• Provide weekly inventory reporting to Sales, Planning, and Inventory Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous demonstrated people management experience required.
• 5+ years of industry experience in sports media.
• Experience with OnAir and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
