About the position

As the Director of NA Fitness at NIKE, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision for the North American fitness market. This position is not just about managing a team; it’s about leading a movement that connects Nike’s diverse roster of Trainers with the brand’s core values and business objectives. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that resonate with fitness consumers in key markets such as New York City and Los Angeles. Your leadership will ensure that the Trainer partnerships are not only effective but also aligned with Nike’s mission to innovate for athletes. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of Sports Marketing to create a competitive offering and service model for Trainers. You will manage the strategic plan and resource allocation for the NA Fitness team, ensuring that all initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively. Your ability to foster strong cross-functional relationships will be crucial as you collaborate with various teams within Nike to elevate the Trainer experience and support City Reps. You will also be responsible for facilitating contract management for Trainers, ensuring that all agreements are in compliance and beneficial for both parties. Your work will involve gathering insights and feedback from Trainers and City Reps to keep Nike attuned to the evolving fitness landscape. You will develop programs that showcase the authenticity and scale of the Trainer roster, including initiatives for product feedback and content creation. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach, as you will be navigating the complexities of the Nike matrix while driving value for both Trainers and the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an overall strategic Trainer vision for North America with an emphasis on building a diverse and dynamic portfolio to connect with Nike's NYC & LA fitness consumers
  • Manage the strategic plan and resourcing needs for NA Fitness
  • Leverage knowledge of Sports Marketing functional tools and expertise to create a competitive offering and service model for Trainers
  • Create efficiencies with Brand & Athlete Experience SM teammates to elevate the Trainer experience and support City Reps
  • Lead Geo-wide Trainer moments, such as the NA Trainer Exchange
  • Facilitate contract management for Trainers, in partnership with Legal
  • Provide visibility and access to the Trainer roster for key cross-functional teammates, while maintaining the integrity Sports Marketing relationships
  • Elevate the insights and feedback from the City Reps and Trainers to ensure Nike is keeping its finger on the pulse of fitness in our key cities
  • Develop programs to demonstrate the scale and authenticity of our Trainer roster, such as product feedback and content needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Sport/Fitness or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of partners across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races
  • Experience managing a team of high-performers through fast-paced change and ambiguity
  • Experience influencing leadership, teams and functional counterparts to get results in a balanced way
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including: meeting facilitation and presentation
  • Expertise and/or passion for Fitness and Wellness
  • Ability to travel (up to) 20%
