About the position

The Director of State Government Affairs at Fujifilm is responsible for serving as a liaison and lobbyist for state and local governments. This role involves developing and maintaining positive relationships with state policymakers and related staff, focusing on Fujifilm's core business areas. The position requires a strategic approach to government relations, including lobbying, coalition building, and policy development to support legislative and regulatory activities relevant to the company's interests in various industries.

Responsibilities

• Identify, monitor, and analyze state legislation and relevant state policy critical to life sciences and healthcare.
• Support government relations goals by lobbying and building coalitions with key decision-makers.
• Participate in the development of policy positions and strategies for legislative and regulatory activities.
• Advise state officials and stakeholders on policy positions and issues.
• Establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations and state trade associations.
• Conduct research and develop analysis for public policy outreach and communications.
• Manage the State Government Affairs & Public Policy budget, including preparation and tracking.
• Advise on state and local incentive agreements relevant to Fujifilm's operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of legislative, regulatory, lobbying, or political experience.
• Healthcare or pharmaceutical background of more than 5 years.
• Strong political acumen and understanding of the legislative process.
• Contacts and relationships with state legislatures and local policymakers.
