About the position

The Director of State Government Affairs serves as a liaison and lobbyist for state and local governments, focusing on developing and maintaining positive relationships with policymakers. This role is crucial for supporting Fujifilm's core business areas by monitoring legislation and advocating for the company's interests in various sectors, including healthcare and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze state legislation and relevant state policy critical to life sciences and healthcare.
  • Lobby and build coalitions with key decision-makers and policymakers.
  • Develop policy positions and strategies to support legislative and regulatory activities.
  • Advise state officials and stakeholders on policy positions and issues.
  • Establish relationships with partner organizations and state trade associations.
  • Conduct research and develop analysis for public policy outreach.
  • Manage the State Government Affairs & Public Policy budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of legislative, regulatory, lobbying, or political experience.
  • Healthcare or pharmaceutical background of more than 5 years.
  • Strong political acumen and understanding of the legislative process.
  • Contacts and relationships with state legislatures and local policymakers.
