About the position

The Director of State Government Affairs will serve as a liaison and lobbyist for state and local governments, focusing on developing and maintaining positive relationships with policymakers. This role is crucial for supporting Fujifilm's core business areas across various industries, including life sciences and healthcare, by monitoring legislation and advocating for the company's interests.

Responsibilities

• Identify, monitor, and analyze state legislation and relevant state policy critical to life sciences and healthcare.
• Support government relations goals by lobbying and building coalitions with key decision-makers.
• Participate in developing policy positions and strategies for legislative and regulatory activities.
• Advise state officials and stakeholders on policy positions and issues.
• Establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations and state trade associations.
• Conduct research and develop analysis for public policy outreach and communications.
• Manage the State Government Affairs & Public Policy budget, including preparation and tracking.
• Advise on incentive agreements in states where Fujifilm operates or expands.
• Identify critical state policy goals for subsidiary companies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of legislative, regulatory, lobbying, or political experience.
• Healthcare or pharmaceutical background of more than 5 years.
• Strong political acumen and understanding of the legislative process.
• Contacts and relationships with state legislatures and local policymakers.
