About the position

The Director of Strategic Initiatives at Emory University's School of Nursing is responsible for managing strategic initiatives within the Office of Academic Advancement. This role involves overseeing project management, implementation, and execution of strategic plans, while serving as a liaison between various departments and external partners. The director will also coordinate administrative operations, manage communications, and provide data analysis to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic initiatives for the Office of Academic Advancement in the School of Nursing.
  • Oversee special projects and initiatives across various units and external partners.
  • Act as a liaison between the Associate Dean of Academic Advancement and other departments.
  • Manage communication between the Office of Academic Advancement and internal/external units.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across units and with external partners.
  • Represent the Associate Dean in meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinate administrative operations with Assistant Deans of the Academic Advancement department.
  • Manage the Associate Dean's schedule and priorities.
  • Gather data and develop qualitative and quantitative analyses, including written documents and presentations.
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Align publication opportunities for faculty with School of Nursing resources.
  • Plan, write, and/or edit articles, grant proposals, and faculty biographical sketches.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff or students as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health sciences, public health, or business administration.
  • Five years of writing experience, including contributions to journal articles or formal papers.
  • Proven strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of the higher education landscape, particularly in a school of nursing.
  • Supervisory experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. is preferred.
