About the position

The Director of Strategic Sourcing at Arrow Electronics is responsible for leading the procurement team and developing sourcing strategies that align with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves managing significant annual spend, fostering relationships with vendors, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The director will work closely with senior leaders to influence planning and drive operational efficiencies while achieving cost-reduction goals.

Responsibilities

• Establish a clear vision for the procurement team, aligning their goals with the company's strategic objectives.
• Oversee and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Drive accountability within the team to create/update category strategies and maintain a pipeline of actionable projects.
• Understand sourcing maturity, identify gaps, and partner with the business to act on opportunities that drive operational efficiencies.
• Develop strategies to improve vendor performance and manage addressable spend.
• Facilitate strong partnerships with strategic vendors and ensure compliance with legal and procurement policies.
• Achieve annual cost-reduction goals and deliver standardized commercial terms to minimize risks.
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with global internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Oversee complex sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations.
• Conduct market research and maintain knowledge of business trends to identify new sources of supply.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in Indirect Sourcing, Category Management, or Procurement.
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to influence executives.
• Strong organizational skills and effective decision-making abilities.
• Experience fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
