The Medical Excellence team is a global organization that drives excellence in external customer engagement across therapeutic areas and for all markets within the Global Medical Affairs organization. This high-performing team consists of six capabilities that work in partnership to translate therapeutic area strategy into impactful market execution. The role of Director, Strategy & Operations for Medical Excellence provides a unique opportunity to develop and drive cross-functional strategy for this dynamic team, ensuring that the organization meets its goals and objectives effectively. The Director will be accountable for strategic planning and execution, finance and resource management, metrics and performance measurement, communication and collaboration, governance, quality and continuous improvement, vendor and contract management, and operational support for the Medical Excellence organization. This position requires critical skills to bring structure to vaguely defined problems and utilize a pragmatic problem-solving approach to translate strategy into actionable next steps. The Director will enhance collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand and meet business needs through the Medical Excellence integrated business model, and will design and facilitate workshops with senior leaders to develop strategic direction and tactical plans. In addition to strategic leadership, the Director will drive execution excellence by ensuring effective stakeholder management and communications across business units. This includes conducting business process analysis and managing strategic initiatives to support acquisition and integration, as well as driving internal and external communication for the organization. The role also involves resource management, including monitoring headcount, collaborating with the leadership team on talent strategy, and managing budget processes. The Director will be expected to travel domestically and internationally approximately 5-10% of the time, ensuring that they remain engaged with stakeholders and the broader healthcare environment.
