The Director, Strategy & Operations will be a key strategic partner to the executive team, driving the company's mission forward. This role involves both internal and external-facing responsibilities, providing strategic oversight for operational and communication needs. The position requires handling complex situations, managing multiple responsibilities, and balancing long-term projects with immediate demands. It offers a front-row seat to startup growth, leveraging broad organizational visibility to identify challenges, develop solutions, and execute critical workflows. This role is ideal for a high-performer who excels at the intersection of strategy and execution, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and seeks accelerated exposure to executive-level decision-making. The role is within the commercial organization and includes direct management of the Strategy and Operations team and G&A functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, business operations, or a comparable high-performance environment.
  • Strong business acumen with familiarity in healthcare, life sciences, digital health, or tech-enabled services.
  • Proven ability to structure problems, build analytical frameworks, and generate concise, insight-rich recommendations.
  • Exceptional project management skills: ability to run multiple initiatives, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes independently.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to earn trust quickly and communicate with clarity and influence.
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environments.
  • Willingness to travel ~15% for customer, partner, or conference engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health-tech, or AI-driven healthcare solutions.
  • Exposure to C-suite advising, or executive-level decision support.
  • Prior experience working inside a scaling startup or operator role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the executive team, assisting with prioritization, sequencing, and critical decision-making.
  • Act as an extension of the leadership team, amplifying insights, synthesizing information, and ensuring leadership time is focused on high-impact activities.
  • Manage multi-threaded, high-stakes company initiatives, including financial reporting vendors and automating the invoicing process.
  • Build frameworks, workflows, and playbooks to enhance organizational performance and scalability.
  • Lead and manage the Strategy and Operations team (planned 1 direct report) and the people and marketing functions (2 additional direct reports).
  • Own the company’s operating cadence, including Leadership Team meetings, quarterly planning, reviews, and cross-functional forums.
  • Ensure organizational alignment on priorities, metrics, and accountability frameworks.
  • Drive clarity across teams by translating strategic goals into executable plans.
  • Structure analyses to distill complex data into actionable insights for the leadership team.
  • Provide decision support for strategic opportunities, including market assessments, product expansion initiatives, partnership evaluation, or financial modeling.
  • Increase the quality and speed of decision-making across the company through high-quality strategic research.
