About the position

The Washington Post is seeking a visionary Director of Subscriber Acquisition Marketing to lead global efforts in subscriber acquisition. This role involves overseeing a team dedicated to driving growth in the subscriber base through various digital marketing strategies, including onsite optimization, media strategy, CRM planning, and conversion rate optimization. The Director will collaborate closely with multiple departments to achieve ambitious subscription goals while managing budgets and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive global subscriber acquisition.
  • Manage acquisition forecasts and achieve set budgets for registrations, starts, terminations, and revenue.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to develop a testing roadmap for optimizing acquisition growth.
  • Direct management of biddable media campaigns across multiple platforms for maximum ROI.
  • Refine A/B testing strategies to optimize messaging and channel selection.
  • Partner with Product teams on enhancing registration products and global pricing initiatives.
  • Oversee marketing processes, timelines, and creative development for campaigns.
  • Execute strategic acquisitions informed by analysis to exceed performance metrics.
  • Lead the launch of digital marketing campaigns across various channels in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and mentor a team of 8+ performance marketing managers and specialists.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or 8+ years of hands-on experience in performance marketing.
  • Deep understanding of B2C/DTC marketing channels and funnels, with at least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Experience in promoting products within a recurring revenue or subscription business model.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative capabilities for data-driven decision-making.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
