About the position

The Director of Supplier Engagement at Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is a newly created role focused on leading initiatives to foster and manage productive relationships with a diverse supplier base. This position is critical for ensuring that procurement processes align with the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and sustainability. The director will establish and govern policies for supplier engagement across various segments, ensuring inclusivity and effective supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage company policies regarding supplier segmentation and engagement systems.
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of diverse suppliers across the nation.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing function within Procurement for supplier management responsibilities.
  • Work with the ESG team to enhance sustainability efforts company-wide.
  • Lead third-party audits and assessments related to supplier engagement.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for procurement and supplier diversity initiatives.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate internal and external supplier diversity reporting.
  • Promote standardization of reporting across all regions and customers.
  • Act as a key contact in meetings with customers regarding diverse suppliers.
  • Manage supplier development and strategic partnership programs to strengthen the diverse supplier pipeline.
  • Represent the company at industry forums and conferences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in Procurement and/or Reporting.
  • Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree in a relevant field (MBA or Sustainability) preferred.
  • Direct experience with building and reporting diverse supply programs.
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms like Supplier.io, Power Advocate, etc. preferred.
  • Ability to travel to customer meetings and conferences as needed, anticipating 25-50% travel.
