Since its inception in 2001, Water Mission has positively impacted over 8 million lives across 60 countries, sharing not only safe water but also the message of God's love. The organization is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management who will play a pivotal role in enhancing global supply chain efficiency. This position is not just a job; it is a calling for individuals who possess the courage, passion, and drive to make a difference in the world. The Director of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all activities related to procurement, inventory, shipping, equipment sales, and logistics. This role requires strategic oversight and planning within the supply chain processes to ensure the effective and timely availability of materials and equipment. Key responsibilities include sourcing goods, managing inventory, overseeing production assemblies, facilitating equipment sales, and managing logistics and vehicle fleets. The position is based at Water Mission's headquarters in North Charleston, South Carolina, and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A successful candidate will maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, and the communities served. This includes engaging in prayer before and after team meetings and leading biblically based staff devotions. The Director will lead and coordinate the activities of the Supply Chain Management department in the US, developing a cohesive team from existing procurement, logistics, and equipping sales staff. Additionally, the role involves indirect oversight and support for supply chain management within country programs and disaster response activities. The Director will also be responsible for developing and revising departmental policies and procedures, creating training materials for both US and international staff, and evaluating performance results. Budget management is crucial, as the Director will maintain responsibility for the annual budget of the supply chain management department and ensure adherence to it. The role requires implementing effective inventory management practices to reduce costs and identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, including disruptions due to geopolitical factors and regulatory changes. The Director will advise the CFO on compliance with customs laws in the countries where the organization operates and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and international staff, to maintain strong relationships with strategic business partners. Monitoring supplier performance and staying informed of best practices and emerging trends in the supply chain environment are also essential duties.
