From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United's customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily flight operations of United Airlines.
  • Direct the Network Operations Control team to execute daily flight schedules in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Manage information flow describing all operational elements to appropriate bodies of the airline and outside constituencies.
  • Develop daily operating strategy, execute to that strategy, and analyze effectiveness for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for senior leadership across the organization and the NOC.
  • Develop and execute daily operational plans and lead through normal and irregular operations.
  • Responsible for delay and cancellation strategies with a focus on safety, customer impact, schedule reliability, and profit optimization.
  • Act as the key communicator for the daily operation via scheduled and ad-hoc calls, emails, Network alerts, and other communication tools.
  • Maintain oversight of all operating functions within the NOC to ensure operational integrity.
  • Provide leadership and guidance during operational challenges.
  • Train, support, and guide the Operations Management group.
  • Establish policies and provide feedback.
  • Recommend or establish cross-divisional policies and procedures within the NOC.
  • Provide operationally relevant feedback during NOC After Action Reviews and support the implementation of actions taken from these reviews.
  • Monitor staffing plans for key critical roles within the NOC and engage with the scheduling team to provide necessary support and coverage.
  • Oversee the safety and wellbeing of the NOC staff as a key leader on the NOC floor.
  • Engage with all groups to ensure safety is maintained.

Requirements

  • BS in Aviation Management or relevant work experience (7+ years airline operations experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity).
  • Minimum of 4 years in airline operations.
  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations and ATC operations.
  • High level skill in MS Tools, including PowerPoint and TEAMS.
  • Solid understanding of NOC tools and functions, including planning, routing, weather, ATC, and scheduling.
  • Strong communication skills, fast learner, and ability to provide direction across multiple work groups.
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or BS in Aviation Management (or 6-8 years of airline operations and leadership experience).
  • FAA Airman Certificate, Dispatch, ATP, A&P.
