About the position

The Director of Systems Engineering at American Rheinmetall Vehicles is responsible for leading all aspects of system design, including requirements and architecture, design integration, specialty engineering, modeling and simulation, and product integration. This role is crucial in delivering large complex US Defense programs and ensuring that technical objectives are met while fostering customer relationships and supporting new business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Direct the systems engineering team to meet program requirements and technical objectives.
• Provide technical leadership in architecture definition, requirements analysis, and design integration.
• Create technical presentations for internal and external customers.
• Communicate status, results, and recovery plans to senior management.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure program requirements are met.
• Establish and report engineering metrics and provide inputs for proposals.
• Support new business development through leading and writing proposals.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in delivering large complex US Defense programs.
• Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Detailed knowledge in Systems Engineering and related standards/processes.
• Ability to present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with US DoD ground vehicle requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, Automotive)
• Certificate in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE, GfSE)
• Experience with bid capture and contract negotiations.
• Ability to speak German.
