About the position

The Director of Talent Acquisition Recruiter at Wake County Public School System is a visionary leader responsible for creating and executing recruitment strategies to attract and retain optimal staff for the district. This role oversees the performance of the recruitment team, ensuring that goals and metrics are established to track their work. The director will analyze data to implement a recruitment and retention plan that aligns with the district's strategic objectives, while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a recruitment team to identify and influence diverse candidates for vacant positions.
  • Coordinate recruitment functions such as job fairs and career days to source qualified candidates.
  • Create and execute a recruitment plan aligned with district core values and strategic plan.
  • Articulate a recruitment plan with deliverables, timelines, and tracking processes.
  • Identify current and future staffing needs and align recruitment processes accordingly.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to implement a marketing plan for candidate identification.
  • Work with departments to forecast open positions and understand candidate success profiles.
  • Establish relationships with organizations and educational institutions to support staff relocation.
  • Manage resume flow and candidate communications throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on candidates and recruitment activities.
  • Implement innovative recruitment and retention strategies to support district growth.
  • Participate in HR meetings, professional development, and recruitment events as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with WCPSS standards and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, or related field.
  • Five years of human resources management experience or five years of administrative school-based experience.
  • Three years of experience with applicant tracking or information management systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in public administration, business administration, HR, or related field.
  • Experience with Customer Resource Management (CRM) software.
  • Human Resources Professional Certification.
