About the position

The Director of Talent Operations at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a leadership role focused on overseeing the Talent Operations function, which includes managing benefits, payroll, and compensation operations through the HRIS, Workday. This position collaborates closely with the Head of HR and other Talent Leads to ensure effective operations and adherence to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) principles. The Director will also be responsible for developing the Talent Operations team, managing budgets and vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Talent Operations function.
  • Serve as the primary partner to the Head of HR on all aspects of Total Rewards.
  • Provide partnership and customer services to other Talent Leads.
  • Support the Head of HR on all Compensation and Investment Committee work product.
  • Manage and develop the Talent Operations team.
  • Manage relevant budget items, vendor relationships, and contracts.
  • Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Support a total rewards philosophy that is fiscally responsible, competitive, and equitable.
  • Define solutions that are simple, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Lead/oversee Benefits & Payroll & Compensation workstreams.
  • Provide tax and audit support in partnership with Finance.
  • Define and update Salary and Compensation guidelines annually.
  • Develop training and/or best practices for accurate time and attendance submission.
  • Serve as the primary HCM Owner for HR team processes and automation.
  • Manage relevant 3rd party partnerships and lead RFPs for Total Reward vendors.
  • Ensure accurate employee data records and monitor access.
  • Build Reporting/Analytics to provide data and insights on talent.

Requirements

  • Experience in HR with a focus on Total Rewards, Talent Operations, Compensation & Benefits.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Specialized knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, including regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and agility.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) principles.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
