About the position

NVIDIA is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management to lead the development and improvement of its autonomous vehicle platform technology. This role involves coordinating multi-functional engineering teams to integrate their work into the autonomous DRIVE SW platform, ensuring compliance with NVIDIA and automotive standards. The position is pivotal in driving efficiency, managing projects, and enhancing the overall autonomous driving experience for users worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate planning and execution of all projects within the AV Platform Team.
  • Drive process and infrastructure improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of AV Platform resources.
  • Lead, manage, train, and provide guidance to other Technical Program Managers (TPMs) for improved planning and execution.
  • Consult with senior management and teams on complex technical issues to achieve program alignment.
  • Analyze and diagnose underlying events contributing to performance metrics, identify trends, and resolve priority engineering work.
  • Drive implementation and recommend improvements across features and the stack in collaboration with component engineering teams.
  • Ensure driving quality of fleet engineering by making go/no-go decisions on major technical changes and defining necessary tests/frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in a similar or related role, with significant experience in automotive software development.
  • 8+ years of managing engineering level projects and distributed teams (30+).
  • Practical experience in developing embedded software, using version control systems, and debugging.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of autonomous vehicle stack operations and practical experience in addressing related challenges.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive alignment across large organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with autonomous vehicle and/or machine learning development.
  • Background with data analysis tools/languages such as SQL.
  • Experience with start-ups and/or early-stage products.
