About the position

The Director of Technical Program Management for Availability Initiatives at Salesforce is responsible for leading cross-organizational programs that enhance service reliability and resilience. This role focuses on managing complex programs, particularly in Service Ownership and Critical User Journey adoption, while collaborating with senior leadership and various engineering teams. The position requires a proactive approach to program execution, strategic planning, and relationship management to ensure successful delivery and organizational impact.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end program management of major Availability programs, focusing on Service Ownership and Critical User Journey adoption.
  • Execute programs across multiple clouds and functions, coordinating with partner organizations on priorities and resource planning.
  • Act as an independent driver, owning key programs and resolving roadblocks with support from other TPMs.
  • Anticipate issues and proactively identify potential risks, proposing solutions before they impact timelines.
  • Lead the vision and roadmap for programs spanning 6-9 months and 2-3 release cycles.
  • Manage programs with dependencies across multiple clouds, defining success metrics and establishing alignment across teams.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with stakeholders and executive leaders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Lead essential meetings, managing logistics and driving decision-making across teams.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies clearly to various audiences, including senior executives.
  • Build deep product knowledge to make informed program-related decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Program Manager managing large, complex programs/projects using Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Expertise in establishing scope, creating plans/schedules, and managing program execution.
  • Experience in framing and implementing large-scale change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and hands-on experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting to executive levels.
  • Proven ability to influence and build alignment across senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to quickly learn Salesforce applications to build tools and reports.
  • Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or availability-driven initiatives.
