About the position

The Director of Technical Program Management at Capital One is responsible for leading programs that deliver critical business goals and build large-scale products and platforms. This role focuses on creating solid platforms for mobile and web surfaces to enhance customer experiences across various banking services. The position also involves expanding the Technical Program Management discipline within the team, leveraging industry knowledge to demonstrate the impact of effective TPM leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large-scale products and platforms.
• Build solid platforms on mobile and web surfaces for Capital One customers.
• Expand the Technical Program Management discipline within the team.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life-cycle.
• Simplify complex technical concepts for cross-functional teams.
• Drive execution, follow-through, accountability, and results across teams.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
• Strong technical background in building scalable platforms, products, or services.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Experience in growing and developing a team of TPMs.

Nice-to-haves

• 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
• 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems using cloud computing services, preferably AWS.
• 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products and platforms.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
• Experience in building systems within a highly regulated environment.
• MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field.
