About the position

The Director of Technical Program Management for Generative AI at Capital One is responsible for leading programs that align with critical business goals and developing large-scale products and platforms. This role involves building foundational platforms for mobile and web that enhance customer experiences across various lines of business. The position also focuses on expanding the Technical Program Management (TPM) discipline within the organization, leveraging industry knowledge to demonstrate the impact of effective TPM leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large scale products & platforms.
  • Build solid platforms on mobile and web surfaces to enhance customer experiences.
  • Expand the TPM discipline within the team by leveraging industry knowledge and experience.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life-cycle.
  • Simplify technically complex issues and drive informed decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science teams.
  • Grow and develop a team of TPMs while establishing the foundations for the TPM practice.
  • Ensure exceptional cross-team collaboration to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
  • 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
  • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs, owning the business or technical vision.
  • Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams of Data scientists, AI researchers, ML engineers, and product managers.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience.
