About the position

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management to join the Strategic Program Management team within Payment Networks. This role is pivotal in driving the program management strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing the customer experience journey and will possess a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical mindset, along with an entrepreneurial spirit. The Director will serve as a single point of contact for each line of business, ensuring that technology investments and assets are aligned to deliver expected business and financial benefits. This involves collaborating with business partners to align business and IT roadmaps, providing IT solutions to business opportunities, gathering and documenting requirements, and prioritizing projects based on economic measures and business cases. In this role, the Director will manage all technology aspects for the line of business, from project development through operational excellence, ensuring transparency across all technology and operational needs. The responsibilities include anticipating potential planning gaps, identifying when a project is going off-track, and preparing contingency plans for future project risks. The successful candidate will have experience working on implementation initiatives, a financial background, and knowledge of payments, mobile, and e-commerce technologies. Familiarity with strategy, planning, and project management is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Provide each line of business a single point of contact to better align technology investments and assets to deliver expected business and financial benefits.
  • Work with business partners to align business and IT roadmaps, provide IT solutions to business opportunities, gather and document requirements, and prioritize projects based on economic measures and business cases.
  • Manage all technology aspects for the line of business from project development through operational excellence, providing transparency to business partners across all technology and operational needs.
  • Anticipate potential planning gaps and the impact of changes to improve plan specifics in current and future projects across more complex work efforts.
  • Identify when a project is going off-track and adjust as needed to guarantee internal customer expectations are met.
  • Anticipate future project risks and thoroughly prepare contingency plans by voluntarily going beyond expectations across technology project initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience working on implementation initiatives.
  • Financial background.
  • Knowledge and experience in payments, the mobile and/or e-commerce market and technologies.
  • Knowledge in the areas of strategy, planning, and project management preferred.
