About the position

Holman Enterprises is seeking a Director of Technology User Interface and Experience to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive UI/UX strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. This role is pivotal in driving innovation in design, ensuring that the organization stays ahead of industry trends while incorporating best practices in user interface and experience design. The Director will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a talented team of UI/UX designers, researchers, and developers, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. In this position, the Director will oversee all design projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they meet quality standards and deadlines. This includes establishing and maintaining design standards, guidelines, and best practices, as well as providing constructive feedback and guidance on design work. The Director will also oversee user research activities to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points, implementing usability testing to ensure that designs meet user requirements and provide a seamless experience. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Director will work closely with product managers, developers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive product development and alignment with business goals. The Director will communicate design strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and senior management, ensuring that all products are designed with a user-centered approach that prioritizes usability and accessibility. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for defining and tracking UI/UX performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of design solutions, utilizing data and analytics to inform design decisions and improve user experiences. Budget management for the UI/UX department is also a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet project demands. The Director will encourage continuous learning and professional development within the UI/UX team, continuously improving design processes and workflows for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Finally, the Director will ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and accessibility guidelines, while also performing all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance on design work, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master's preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience, including 5+ at a leadership level; multiple levels of reporting relationships strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within own function and general knowledge of areas, departments and/or function(s) within and across other disciplines.
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.).
