About the position

As the Director of Therapy Operations at Encompass Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care and enhancing the health of your local community. You will be responsible for developing, revising, implementing, and communicating policies, processes, and procedures, while holding staff accountable for their respective roles and responsibilities. Collaboration with the marketing team will be essential as you work to educate both staff and the community about awareness, prevention, and treatment options. Additionally, you will develop and support clinical affiliations and relationships with educational institutions to enhance the quality of care provided. Your expertise will also be crucial in utilizing historical data and emerging trends to forecast operational revenues and expenses. You will make informed recommendations based on internal and external market conditions, including potential salary adjustments. A thorough understanding of state, federal, and professional regulatory requirements for program reimbursement, business standards, legal issues, and documentation requirements will be necessary to ensure compliance and effective program operations. You will also be responsible for educating staff on updates and changes in standards and advising the CEO on the needs required for effective program operation and implementation. Ultimately, your role will include providing patient care and celebrating the accomplishments of both staff and patients, reinforcing a culture of recognition and support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization, development, and supervision of Therapy Operations.
  • Develop, revise, implement, and communicate policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Hold staff accountable for their respective roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to educate staff and the community about awareness, prevention, and treatment options.
  • Develop and support clinical affiliations and relationships with educational institutions.
  • Use historical data and emerging trends to forecast operational revenues and expenses.
  • Make recommendations based on internal and external market conditions for potential salary adjustments.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of state, federal, and professional regulatory requirements for program reimbursement.
  • Educate and communicate updates and changes in standards to the staff.
  • Advise the CEO on the needs required for effective program operation and implementation.
  • Provide patient care.
  • Celebrate the accomplishments and victories of staff and patients.

Requirements

  • Current State license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited therapy program.
  • Minimum of five years of rehabilitation experience, including two years in a management role is required.
  • Additional training with a Master's or Doctorate degree in a professional or management area is preferred.
