About the position

The Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations at Bentley University is responsible for overseeing the total rewards strategy, which includes compensation, benefits, rewards, and recognition programs. This role ensures that all programs are competitive, aligned with the University's mission, and contribute to a positive employee experience. Additionally, the director leads HR operations, focusing on optimizing systems and analytics to support the University's business needs. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and management of the HR team in compensation, benefits, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the University's benefit and compensation strategies to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Conduct regular market evaluations and ensure completion of compensation-related work, including pay equity studies and annual merit programs.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage governance committees to deliver efficient and effective benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with compensation and benefits regulations at all levels.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership on faculty compensation and benefits initiatives.
  • Prepare and present recommendations for new programs to the VP of Human Resources.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, vendors, and consultants, evaluating their performance.
  • Oversee HR operations to align strategies with University goals and improve HR business processes.
  • Optimize the Workday HRIS system for data generation and reporting.
  • Mentor and develop the HR Operations team, fostering a culture of improvement and customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Seven years of progressively responsible work experience in HR, including three years in management
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Workday
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation and benefits
