About the position

The Director of U.S. Market Access Pipeline for Neuroscience at AbbVie is responsible for leading the market access strategy development for early pipeline priority assets within the Neuroscience and Eyecare franchise. This role requires a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and payer requirements, ensuring that the voice of U.S. payers is integrated into early drug development processes. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects and deliver integrated asset strategies, ensuring optimal patient access and market shaping opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of Integrated Asset Strategies and Early Integrated Value Propositions within the AbbVie Neuroscience Portfolio.
  • Inform Clinical Development Programs to support optimized patient access.
  • Ensure project resource needs are met and allocate budget across asset assignments.
  • Inform early asset development through market access evidence requirements and market shaping opportunities.
  • Embed USMAx insights in all Early Pipeline Touchpoints and initiate strategies for optimal asset development.
  • Provide strong asset leadership representing USMAx Pipeline for Neuroscience stakeholders.
  • Act as a partner to internal stakeholders driving early pipeline strategy.
  • Represent USMAx Early Pipeline at governance meetings as needed.
  • Contribute strategic thinking to inform access and pricing assumptions for early Neuroscience pipeline assets.
  • Coordinate and act as pipeline lead for USMAx financial LRP and strategic LRP assumptions.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate complex organizational systems.
  • Deep subject matter expertise relevant to commercial and government payers.
  • US market access experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in developing compelling payer value propositions.
  • Experience in leading primary and secondary payer research projects.
  • Knowledge of government contracting and customer buying behaviors.
  • Experience in Pipeline development and/or Market Access launches, ideally in Neuroscience.
  • Experience with pharmacy and medical benefit products and differing acquisition models.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication skills, and executive presence.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to comprehend complex planning scenarios.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous neuroscience experience or knowledge in psychiatric disease states, movement disorders, and neurodegeneration areas.
