About the position

Disney Television Animation is seeking a Director for an Unannounced Disney Junior Series. This leadership role involves collaborating with the Executive Producer, Line Producer, and other creative executives to realize the show's creative vision while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. The Director will lead a diverse team of Storyboard Artists, manage tight deadlines, and navigate frequently changing production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Attend hand-out meetings for assigned episodes and prepare questions, suggestions, and concerns regarding complexity, schedule, and deadlines.
  • Follow up with Storyboard Artists to ensure clarity on direction and expectations.
  • Check in regularly with Storyboard Artists to ensure they are on track.
  • Communicate creative issues that may impact the schedule or budget and work towards timely solutions.
  • Provide constant and timely feedback to the artists on the team.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer and Line Producer on feedback for the Editor and Production Management team.
  • Work with the Editor to create the Animatic and finalize it for various production stages.
  • Review all materials before shipment to the animation partner studio to ensure clarity of the creative vision and goals.
  • Coordinate with the Timing Director, Continuity Coordinator, and Production Coordinator to ensure episode readiness for shipment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Story or Animation departments.
  • Knowledge of CG Animation, Traditional Animation, Visual Effects, and/or Video Game production.
  • Proficiency in software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, or other applicable storyboarding software.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience partnering with Creatives and Executives, and managing and mentoring artists.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to align with the style and sensibility of the show.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
