About the position
The Director, Unit Financial Administration at the University of Louisville will support the strategic initiatives of the Office of Research and Innovation. This role serves as the primary budget and finance manager, overseeing all financial operations and developing business policies, procedures, and internal controls for units reporting to the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the unit Lead Fiscal Officer (LFO), collaborating with various university departments.
- Develop and maintain unit annual budgets, including budget analysis and projections.
- Direct and manage all financial processes for the Office of Research and Innovation, including budget, procurement, and travel.
- Develop financial projections and analyses that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Review and approve all reconciliations, expenditures, travel, and contractual commitments.
- Prepare monthly budget reports and any required financial or regulatory reports.
- Conduct research, data gathering, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Build and manage financial databases by organizing and analyzing data sources.
- Serve on university committees for operations and process improvements.
- Supervise financial aspects of the employee/employment lifecycle and direct ORI Finance staff members.
- Engage in the professional development of direct reports.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for executives as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
