About the position

The Director, U.S. Business Ethics will lead efforts to promote and enhance a culture of compliance and ethics within Ipsen Bioscience, Inc. This role involves collaborating with various business units to identify and mitigate ethics and compliance risks, guide ethical decision-making, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Business Ethics and Compliance Program across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Business Units, Medical Affairs, and Patient Advocacy teams to understand and anticipate stakeholder needs.
  • Identify and mitigate ethics and compliance risks.
  • Guide ethical and compliant decision-making and behavior.
  • Enhance a strong ethical culture to promote ownership and accountability.
  • Support the annual risk assessment process and training initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance efforts and identify potential areas of vulnerability.
  • Implement remedial action plans and support investigations as needed.
  • Prepare for quarterly Business Ethics Committee meetings.
  • Lead ethical culture initiatives and assess compliance with HHS OIG standards.
  • Collaborate with the Global Business Ethics team on global initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the compliance program.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree is required; MBA or master's degree is a plus.
  • 12 to 15 years of related experience, with at least 8 years in healthcare ethics and compliance.
  • A minimum of 3 years in-house experience with a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience in creating and implementing business ethics programs.
  • Experience as an Ethics & Compliance Advisor/Officer for Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, particularly with senior leaders.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, U.S. Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and HIPAA.
  • Experience interacting with field teams, marketing brand teams, and Market Access.
