About the position
The Director of US Vaccines Strategy and Operations at Merck Sharp & Dohme is a key leadership role responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and leading strategic initiatives that support the US Vaccines franchise. This position involves overseeing tactical operations, facilitating key meetings, and managing cross-functional projects to ensure alignment with strategic priorities. The role reports directly to the SVP of US Vaccines and provides operational support to the leadership team, focusing on employee development, communication, and project execution.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize key strategic initiatives for the US Vaccines franchise.
- Lead ongoing tactical operations including facilitation of key meetings and oversight of projects.
- Manage large cross-functional projects in support of strategic priorities.
- Coordinate key communications and execution of US Vaccine BU Town Halls.
- Organize and manage Leadership Team meetings and forums.
- Oversee employee development initiatives and track healthcare and vaccine trends.
- Manage the Vaccine BU Capability Lead for functional skill building.
Requirements
- 5 years of business experience in marketing, sales, market access & pricing, or related fields in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
- Strong collaboration skills within commercial and cross-divisional teams.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and articulate messages clearly.
- Experience working in complex organizations and leading without authority.
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities and innovative mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor teams, providing clear expectations.
