About the position

The Visa VAS Issuer Solutions team is seeking a Sales Engineering Director with extensive proven technical acumen in an Issuer Processing environment. A successful candidate must be a strategic and critical thinker with an exemplary record of client-facing interactions. The VAS Sales Engineering Director will play a critical role in Visa Issuer Processing sales and retention, and must be able to connect emerging market trends with Visa Issuing Solutions products, solutions, and competitive analytics data to provide direction and positioning to support a Visa Issuer Processing win. This position acts as a liaison between sales and product teams to ensure the voice of the customer and market trends are communicated to affect roadmap development and prioritization. The responsibilities include leading the solutioning efforts for all Visa VAS Issuer Solutions - Issuer Processing prospects and existing Issuer Processing clients. The candidate must have a deep understanding of technical integration points for an Issuer Processor and Issuing client with their third-party vendors, including core, online banking, mobile banking, and instant issuance vendors. They will identify and document nuances with the many variations that are possible with Issuer Processing configurations and speak intelligently/consultatively on this subject with clients/prospects during and after sales engagements. The role requires maintaining a deep knowledge of all Visa Issuer Solutions products and services, focusing primarily on DPS core services and Value Added Services. The Sales Engineering Director will support on-site and virtual sales pitches and client renewals through leading presentations as well as demonstrations of Visa tools. They will prepare content and help showcase Visa value through Value Based Selling techniques and artifacts. The role also involves conducting consultation sessions with prospects and existing clients, delivering product and competitor information to drive and support product development and innovation strategies, and collaborating with product teams to convey the voice of the customer for influencing the roadmap for any market gaps. Additionally, the candidate will participate in RFP efforts associated with Issuer Processing services and help optimize content to improve productivity and create efficiencies in the RFP process. The position requires fostering in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization, and actively leading various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of technical integration points for an Issuer Processor and Issuing client with their third party vendors - including core, online banking, mobile banking, and instant issuance vendors.
  • Identify and document nuances with the many variations that are possible with Issuer Processing configurations, and speak intelligently/consultatively on this subject with clients/prospects during and after sales engagements.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of all Visa Issuer Solutions products and services focusing primarily on DPS core services and Value Added Services.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to educate and inform team for ongoing evolution and enhancements for Issuer Solutions products and services.
  • Participate in RFP efforts associated with Issuer Processing services.
  • Help optimize content to improve productivity and create efficiencies in the RFP process using RFPIO tool.
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization.
  • Actively lead various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD).
  • Strong technical acumen and knowledge of Operational and IT payment processing environments.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and/or relationship management.
  • Experience with FI relationships, analysis, finance, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross-functional relationships.
  • Exceptional customer service and advocacy experience and mindset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10-12 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA).
  • Experience with related sales, product and management experience in the payments industry.
  • Ability to communicate and manage relationships with all levels of the client's organization.
