About the position

The Director of Virtual Construction & Prefab is responsible for leading the development and implementation of virtual construction strategies and fabrication processes within Stansell Electric Company. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to enhance project efficiency and quality through effective integration of technology in construction workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive virtual construction and fabrication strategy aligned with the company's goals.
• Oversee virtual construction initiatives across multiple projects, ensuring effective integration of technology into project planning and execution.
• Lead and mentor a team of virtual construction specialists, BIM managers, and fabrication experts, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Evaluate and implement advanced technologies, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital fabrication tools, and project management software.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless collaboration and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure that virtual construction models and fabricated components meet industry standards and project specifications.
• Develop training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge in virtual construction and fabrication technologies.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of virtual construction initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to manage expectations and ensure alignment on project goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field (hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of education requirements).
• Typically, 10+ years in construction, with significant experience in virtual construction, BIM (Building Information Modeling), and/or fabrication.
• Strong understanding of Prefab capabilities, process improvement, and BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and similar tools.
• Experience in a managerial or director role, overseeing multiple teams and projects.
• Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background.
