About the position

The Director of Visualization & Analytics at MassMutual will lead the Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics team, focusing on providing actionable insights to inform strategic initiatives and operational decisions. This role combines business acumen with technical skills to drive the strategic vision and execution of visualization, self-service, and automation tools, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive strategic activities and planning associated with Operations Business Intelligence objectives.
• Consult with leaders on business intelligence needs and represent it in business language with powerful visualizations.
• Source and structure internal data, integrate third-party data, and derive analytical insights.
• Create leading/lagging indicators and guide data literacy to engage users in data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to design solutions that meet business partner needs.
• Evaluate currently available tools and provide strategic recommendations for modernization and integration.
• Create processes for dashboard/tool requirements intake, delivery, and maintenance.
• Educate colleagues on data literacy and the importance of a single source of truth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of experience with Business Intelligence & Analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, MicroStrategy, and Power BI.
• 5+ years of experience in financial services
• 5+ years of leadership experience in both direct and matrixed environments
• 8+ years of experience modernizing and integrating visualization, self-service, or automation tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree, Masters in Business Administration or Business Analytics
• Experience leading business intelligence modernization initiatives
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum project management methodologies
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python or other advanced programming languages
