About the position

The UX Manager II is responsible for leading a team of experienced UX Designers while collaborating with technology partners, product, development, and marketing teams to achieve business goals. This role advocates for the overall user experience, ensuring that user needs and business requirements are effectively represented in the design and functionality of systems. The UX Manager II also provides vision and creative direction for projects, manages team performance, and influences senior leadership on design strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manages strategy implementation to ensure user needs and business requirements are represented in features and functionality of system.
  • Contributes to department strategy development that ensures user needs and business requirements are represented in features and functionality of system.
  • Approves process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies.
  • Communicates with senior leadership to influence others to accept current practices and approaches.
  • Leads complex system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
  • Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback, and directs the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team.
  • Lead a design team in delivering new web and digital experiences while partnering with content, research, analytics, web strategy, client marketing and development.
  • Create a culture of optimization through user behavior and performance analysis to identify opportunities to optimize performance of the site.
  • Oversee all work produced by the team, ensuring that the end-to-end experience journey designs meet the needs of the end user.
  • Develop strong process and partnership with development and contribution teams to facilitate complete and timely handoffs.
  • Possess a strong understanding of agile design & development processes.
  • Manage resources effectively to take advantage of efficiency opportunities to maximize strategic innovation.
  • Advocate to elevate design awareness and implementation of modern design best practices.
  • Lead team in collaborating closely with Brand and Digital & Customer Experience design teams to align with end to end experience processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX design and/or design management experience required; 7+ years preferred.
  • Strong background in marketing experience design, consumer product design, and mobile platform design in an agile delivery model.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, and Miro.
  • Strong team management and team building skills, with experience in leading and mentoring leads and individual contributors.

  • Experience partnering closely with development teams to launch designs into market.
