About the position

The Director, Workload Automation Engineering is a key individual contributor role focused on workload orchestration and batch practices. This position involves working with both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms and cloud-native orchestration solutions. The director will ensure the resilience of batch platforms while introducing valuable new features, optimizing workload automation, and eliminating batch processing from mainframe and cloud environments. The role requires collaboration with architecture and engineering teams to enhance production stability and support internal users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer COTS workload automation solutions.
• Ensure production stability of batch platforms.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to optimize workload automation practices.
• Eliminate batch processing from mainframe and cloud environments.
• Document solutions effectively for internal users.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to enhance batch platforms.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in application development, architecture, or system engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts and technologies, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Experience with workload automation platforms such as Control-M and Autosys.
• Familiarity with open-source data orchestration tools like Airflow and Prefect.
• Understanding of architecture practices and batch processing alternatives.
• Data engineering skills, particularly in SQL (Oracle preferred).
• Highly experienced in Linux practices.
• Strong understanding of agile practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Mainframe experience.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and streaming.
