About the position

The Director, Workload Automation Engineering is a key individual contributor role focused on workload orchestration and batch practices. This position involves working with both commercial off-the-shelf platforms and cloud-native orchestration solutions. The director will be responsible for the development, administration, and stability of workload automation systems, while also advocating for solutions that optimize batch processing. The role requires collaboration with architecture and engineering teams to enhance existing platforms and eliminate batch processing from traditional systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer COTS workload automation solutions.
• Ensure production stability of batch platforms.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to optimize workload automation practices.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to enhance batch platforms.
• Advocate for and document solutions for internal users.
• Eliminate batch processing from mainframe and cloud environments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in application development, architecture, or system engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Experience with workload automation platforms like Control-M and Autosys.
• Familiarity with open-source data orchestration tools such as Airflow and Prefect.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts, including SQL and Oracle.
• Highly experienced in Linux practices.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience with agile practices.
