About the position

The Director, Workload Automation Engineering is a key individual contributor role focused on workload orchestration and automation practices. This position involves working with both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms and cloud-native orchestration solutions. The primary responsibilities include ensuring the resilience of batch platforms, developing and administering workload automation solutions, and optimizing batch processing practices. The role also emphasizes collaboration with architecture and engineering teams to enhance production stability and eliminate batch processing from legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer COTS workload automation solutions.
• Ensure production stability of batch platforms.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to optimize workload automation practices.
• Collaborate with architecture and batch engineering teams.
• Document solutions effectively for internal users.
• Advocate for and evangelize new solutions to application and support teams.
• Assist in eliminating batch processing from mainframe and cloud environments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in application development, architecture, or system engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts and technologies, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Experience with off-the-shelf workload automation platforms like Control-M and Autosys.
• Familiarity with open-source data orchestration tools such as Airflow and Prefect.
• Understanding of architecture practices and batch processing alternatives.
• Data engineering skills, including SQL, with a preference for Oracle.
• Highly experienced in Linux practices.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Understanding of agile practices.
