The Director of Youth Residential Treatment will provide leadership and direction in program development and promotion, maintenance and achievement of agency goals/compliance standards/regulatory requirements, fiscal accountability and the overall development and growth of direct and indirect reports.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern youth residential facilities.
  • Provide leadership to all staff to assure that care standards are met and the highest degree of quality resident care is provided at all times.
  • Assure fiscal accountability of the residential treatment center; exhibit and demand care and competence in managing agency resources.
  • Effectively develop departmental short- and long-range strategic plans, as well as attain related organizational strategic goals.
  • Review processes and procedures and work to implement industry best practice standards, aiding in the development/implementation of program outcome measures to ensure quality service implementation.
  • Initiate/convene/participate in critical incident reviews and resident case monitoring.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and families with external agencies, within the family, and with OhioGuidestone staff.
  • Develop new programming, or augment existing programs, as needed to meet the demands of changing populations.
  • Maintain adequate staffing of residential treatment center at all times and consistently and proactively monitor health and safety, grounds and facility, and maintenance and janitorial issues.
  • In conjunction with Clinical leadership, assure that counseling staff work consistently provide appropriate levels of assessment, treatment planning, case management and counseling to residents, including individual and group therapy, day treatment and family therapy.
  • Maintain effective relationships and facilitate the flow of communication both internally (staff members in the youth residential program as well as interdepartmentally) and externally (county board, public service entities, local government bodies, etc.).
  • Lead, coach, and mentor assigned direct reports, as well as oversee and uphold performance standards and the level of accountability within the department.
  • Create and sustain an organizational culture that fosters inclusiveness and equity.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership, promote an inclusive work environment and present the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
  • Exhibit positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Operations, Nursing, Education, Social Service or Counseling field with a LSW or LPC license preferred
  • LISW or LPCC preferred
  • 2+ years' experience providing oversight to a residential or substance abuse setting
  • 5+ years' experience developing and implementing treatment plans for youth and adolescents
  • Experience dealing with youth with severe behavioral and mental health concerns

  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Successfully meet pre-employment drug screen, physical exam and tuberculosis test requirements.
  • Successfully meet all pre-employment background requirements.
