About the position

The Dirt Foreman at SEEK Construction is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in excavation and site grading projects. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team effectively while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The position involves planning work, managing resources, and reporting progress to the Owner and Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in excavation, backfill, loading/placement of materials, and site grading.
• Directly supervise grading crew.
• Report on work to the Owner and Superintendent.
• Operate all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.
• Set grades and layout for construction sites.
• Build sites according to plans and specifications.
• Keep efficient time and material records.
• Determine the sequence of activities for fabrication, assembly, and erection.
• Plan work ahead and ensure resources are available for upcoming tasks.
• Prioritize, schedule, and communicate plans and tasks to crew members.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices and quality standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with heavy equipment operation.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating and budgeting processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and schematics.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Benefits

• Full-time position with a pay range of $25.00 - $35.00 per hour.
• Expected hours: No less than 40 per week.
• 8 hour shift with overtime opportunities.
