About the position

The Discovery Paralegal will support the insurance defense caseload by managing discovery processes, including propounding and responding to discovery requests. This on-site contract position requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in various legal software tools to ensure efficient case management and communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Conducting discovery responses and requests as part of the litigation process
• Communicating with clients to gather relevant information for cases
• Utilizing case management software to maintain accurate records of each case
• Operating Aderant and Adobe Acrobat as part of daily tasks
• Using the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for specific case details
• Managing calendars and deadlines using CompuLaw
• Handling billing functions related to cases
• Drafting and briefing case-related documents
• Administering claims as part of case management
• Utilizing e-Discovery tools for digital information gathering and management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw.
• Ability to perform Billing Functions accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in Briefing and preparing Discovery Requests and Discovery Responses.
• Skilled in Calendar Management and Claim Administration.
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with e-Discovery processes and principles.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in legal research and documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Paralegal, particularly in Discovery, is advantageous.
